Always Remember to Play

December 28th, 2011

Meet Charlie Todd – the creator of a group called Improv Everywhere. He creates madness and fun out of every day life. We want to be like him when we grow up. A kid with a purpose.

Squids Like Democracy

October 20th, 2011

With the next wave of upcoming elections fast approaching, the Squids would like to take this time to remind the US Government that you work for us. We would like to apologize to the inconvenienced residents of NYC for not being able to get their lattes fast enough, for their cell phone interference, for the obvious traffic slow-down to their oversized SUVs, and for the unfortunately real natural disaster (not an earthquake or hurricane) that has been happening in the lower part of Manhattan, since the late 16th century.

Thomas Jefferson said it best when he said, ““A society that will trade a little liberty for a little order will lose both, and deserve neither”

SquidShow supports the “Occupy Wall Street” movement.

Epic Rap Battles of History

September 26th, 2011

So, I’m fairly certain these actually happened. These guys have a whole Youtube channel for these. Here’s one for Justin Bieber vs. Beethoven. I think Beethoven wins based mostly on the fact that he tips over his piano in a fit of rage and makes an Usher joke.

Jim Henson’s Wisdom

August 31st, 2011

I recently went to see the Jim Henson’s Fantastic World exhibit at the Museum of the Moving Image in Queens, NY, and heard Henson say this on an interview on the Jack Parr show:

“In the early days, if we didn’t know how to end something…a scene or something….something either ate somebody, or blew something up.”

Hello world!

June 28th, 2011

The Squid are coming…the squid are coming….they’re here. Well, actually, we’ve been here for a while. It’s our fifth summer here in Telluride and we finally got it together and slapped together a decent website. Thanks to a little help from our friends, namely Ally Crilly, a local designer and artist and Nathan Cavicchi, a fantastic web designer from the east coast. Thanks Ally & Nathan.

Now it’s time for you to get it together and come see our newest play “CON: A play about liars”, this July 28th-August 1st at the Nugget Theatre. Tickets are FREE (as usual) and the drama is goooooood.

Oh, and if you haven’t yet, friend us on Facebook. Squids love friends.

Squid you later.
